The DeWalt 20V MAX XR™ Brushless 1” L-Shaped SDS Plus Rotary Hammer Drill Kit is built to reduce vibration exposure by up to 50% compared to other hammer drills and to supply heavy-duty power for concrete drilling and chiseling applications, especially when using this tool overhead.

Motor

This hammer drill delivers 2.1 Joules of energy, providing the same performance delivered by an electric version, but in the convenience of a cordless tool. Delivers powerful hammering at 0 - 4,600 BPM and has a no load speed of 0 - 1,100 RPM.

20V MAX XR™ Extreme Runtime tools are built with a brushless motor making them cooler running, while giving them double the runtime of brushed motors, PLUS, they are up to 38% lighter and 57% faster than other 18V li-ion tools, making these tools better for operator health and all day use.

Build

Specifically built ergonomically and lightweight at only 6.8 lbs. this drill is a perfect option for overhead drilling applications.

Drill has three modes: hammer drilling, chipping and drilling. These modes can be selected by simply rotating the mode selector to the desired function.

If using to drill wood or metal, an SDS Plus to round shank adaptor is needed. For wood: use twist bits, spade bits, power auger bits or hole saws. For metal: use high-speed steel twist drill bits or hole saws. For masonry: use SDS Plus carbide-tipped bits that are built for percussion drilling.

When using in chipping mode, there are 51 positions the chisel can be locked into providing ultimate convenience and control.

This hammer drill is built with Shocks™ Active Vibration Control® which reduces vibrations up to 50% compared to other hammers, making this hammer drill easier on the user by helping reduce operator fatigue, pain and injury from vibration exposure. This drill is rated at 6.6 m/s² for vibration levels. Vibration control is activated when the operator applies pressure to the drill. For best results, hold the main handle with one hand and the side handle with the other. The side handle has 360° rotation capabilities to accommodate all users.

Drill has a variable speed trigger built to help the operator keep control of the drill, and to make it easier to start drilling without the bit slipping or the tool twisting. Equipped with a break, the drill will stop rotating when the trigger is released, and also has a forward, reverse and lock control button for extra safety.

Tool has a built-in light that powers on when tool is turned on, supplying light to the work area and making it easier to see where drilling or chipping. Light powers off 20 seconds after tool is turned off, saving battery power.

Dust Extractor Accessory (Sold in kit DCH273P2DH and also separately)

The optional dust extractor is a convenient accessory to help reduce the amount of dust and chemicals that the operator is exposed to, keeping the user safer and cleaner. It is intended only for use when hammerdrilling masonry or concrete and in dry conditions. This attachment is run by the hammer drill but has its own motor. It powers on as soon as the drill is turned on and will continue to run for 2 seconds after drill is turned off, so it can continue to collect any leftover dust.

The HEPA filter removes 99.97% of airborne particles that are 0.3 microns big or greater, drastically reducing the amount of harmful chemicals present during use of the tool.

Has a built-in drilling depth adjustment, making it easy to not over drill holes, saving you time, money and helping to reduce costly errors.

Power

20V MAX XR™ Extreme Runtime Premium Li-Ion 5.0Ah batteries supply up to 60% more runtime per charge than standard 20V MAX™ li-ion batteries. LED fuel gauge on battery gives immediate info on charge level, so there’s no guessing on how much power you have left. Get more power and a considerably longer run-time with these batteries.

Charger has a hot/cold charge delay and will start charge once battery is at optimal temperature. This feature keeps the batteries working in prime condition and helps reduce electrical shocks and fires.
